Sarah has taken influence from two of her many obsessions, swaggering birds of paradise and exaggerated and opulent 18th Century wigs and costume fabrics. She uses images and materials, which have been found, retrieved and reconsidered to illustrate her fascination with the creation of objects and costumes made to transform its wearer, or the striking and colourful plumage shown off during elaborate mating dances. Both used to decorate and inflate the status of the wearer.
